The Lords Prayer

"In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom
and the power
and the glory forever.

Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13

 


Why Pray??
Jesus taught the disciples to pray.
He did this to teach them how to talk to their Heavenly Father.
We also can talk to our Father in this like manner.
like manner means: similar, alike, nearly the same.
Prayer is the simplest form of spiritual discipleship.
Do We need to say this exact prayer?
No. Jesus gave this as an outline as to what is the best way to go about praying.
1. Recognize God as the one and only true God,.In control. seek Him.
2. God Can and will do what He has said
3. Ask for needs
A.tell God your situation
B.Make your request
C.ask for Assurance
4. Ask forgiveness and forgive other.
He said that when we forgive others, God is quick to forgive us.
5. Help us to resist things that are wrong. give us strength
6. Again, Give God all importance, power,
Amen?

Amen mean: So be it.
I other words, as God would have it. His will.

 

Remember , this was an example of prayer structure

Unanswered Prayers are;


1.. Prayer without belief is useless and remains unanswered  James 1:6&7
2. Lustful requests  James4:3
Prayers made with hatred in your heart  Proverbs 1:28-30

 

Promise of Prayer
Luke 11:99 "So I say to you, ask, (pray)
and it will be given to you; ( in God time and His answer, sometimes no.)
seek, and you will find;
knock,
and it will be opened to you. look for answers)

And God Promises,
John 15:77 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
HE Will Answer
